Physical Features/Landforms:
Some Physical Features of the Piedmont Region include the Appalachian mountains, the Fall line, and and lots of Valleys. The Fall Line has lots of streams, rivers, and waterfalls.
Natural Resources:
The Piedmont Region's natural resources include surface water (from streams, rivers, etc.). Granite also comes from the Piedmont, as well as timber.
Piedmont also has very good agriculture. Farmers there grow cotton, soybeans, and wheat. They also produce alot of poultry.
Economic Activity:
The Economic Activity of the Piedmont Region is shrinking a little, but still good. Agriculture, Mineral Mining, and timber make up the Economy.
Population:
Half the population of georgia, lives in the Piedmont Region. According to the 2007 census, 4,770,000 people lived in Piedmont.
Climate:
The Piedmont Region has cool winters (57* F Average), and hot summers (89* F Average). Theres more precipitation per year in the northern, than southern part of the region. Snow isn't that unusual, but more than an inch is.
Major Landforms:
Piedmont has rolling hills, and some isolated mountains. Rivers and ravines are found throughout the region. There are many oak-hickory-pine forests, and mixed decidous forests.
Major Towns/Cities:
Some Major Towns/Cities in the Piedmont include Atlanta, Marietta, Roswell, and Athens.
